Our family was not new to dog ownership but when we decided to embark on puppyhood, we wanted to start out on the right foot (or paw). Jennifer has taught the whole family, including my 9 and 12 year old sons, to actively train Jake. Jennifer was patient with the puppy and, more importantly us. She taught us practical, repeatable and easy training steps that have effectively and quickly taught Jake. Through positive ‘treat-training’ he has mastered basic skills in a few months.
People already remark at how well behaved he is and he doesn’t act like a typical spastic Golden. Thanks to Jennifer’s guidance, having a puppy didn’t turn our house upside down. We adopted Chayna, a 4-year old Yorki, who was afraid of everything and everyone. She had been badly mistreated by a breeder and did not trust people. Her usual demeanor was with her tail between her legs, not looking anyone in the eye.
We asked Jennifer to help us with Chayna . Jennifer guided us by showing how we could gain Chayna’s trust and how to train her to come to us. Jennifer shows a great understanding of dogs and is able to teach others to understand and train their pets in a positive, kind way. Ty and Reykur were both placed in shelters for behavioral issues. Both dogs were rescued with the hope that they would be good working dogs. With 4 months of training, both dogs became happy, well behaved, private detection dogs living with their handlers at home.
